"I wish this was..."
Athinas street always was and continues to be a lively road that hasn't been abandoned by businesses and old trades, unlike other areas of Athens, as for instance Psirri. Nevertheless, the street can still be a place where participatory design initiatives can take place.
Using as a starting point the following project, http://candychang.com/i-wish-this-was, we're giving the chance for people to express their opinion on the form that public spaces (and their use) will take. In certain spots along the street, on the fronts of buildings, we placed special signs stamped with "I wish this was" that the public can write on.||| see map
That way, anyone who'd like to change something along the street, can say exactly what they'd like there to be.
The initiative took place on a day when the street is busy, and the final results will be put on a map that will include pictures.
Hopefully, the initiative "I wish this was" can be the start of a movement that, in the future, can spread to other parts of the city, or simply on an online platform.
Our goal is to gather as many views on...what we'd like here.
So should you wish for something, somewhere, download the stamp, write down your wish and place it there, in the city.
